About Lantz Savage
Tested in court. Prepared to serve.
Lantz Savage has represented people from nearly every side of the courtroom. He has defended the accused, prosecuted violent felony cases, investigated judicial misconduct, represented families, and represented policyholders against their own insurance companies in state and federal courts, including complex property-loss disputes.
For more than a decade, he served as Assistant Special Counsel to the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana, reviewing complaints, developing evidence, and prosecuting allegations of judicial misconduct before the Louisiana Supreme Court. That work sharpened his understanding of the enormous influence judges have on everyday lives and the discipline required to preserve public confidence.
Savage lives in Thibodaux with his amazing wife, Michelle, a Professor of Psychology at Nicholls State University, six dogs, including three rescues, and two rescue cats. Lantz and Michelle are both certified foster parents serving the Bayou Region and appreciate the opportunity to serve their community.

Criminal Law Experience
Served as both a felony public defender and a felony prosecutor, including the prosecution of serious violent offenses.
Civil Trial Experience
Represented families, injured people, and policyholders against their own insurance companies in state and federal courts, including complex property-loss disputes after hurricanes, tornadoes, and fires.
High-Volume Case Management
Managed demanding caseloads, prepared cases for jury trial, negotiated significant resolutions, and handled recurring hearings, writs, and appeals.
Local Education and Commitment
Earned bachelor's and associate degrees from Nicholls State University and a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He is rooted in Thibodaux and committed to serving the Bayou Region.

A judge's duty is to uphold the Constitution, apply the law fairly, and treat every person with dignity and respect. Courts interpret and apply the law. They do not create policy from the bench.
Every litigant deserves an impartial hearing, a meaningful opportunity to be heard, and confidence that the result will turn on the facts and governing law. That requires independence, preparation, restraint, and equal treatment without regard to status, wealth, influence, or political pressure.
